People that you never spoke to in school and even those who you do not even know add you because you have mutual friends. It is very easy for gossip and rumors to spread across Facebook even faster than the hallway of a high school.
I used to be a big Facebook fanatic, but now I read newspapers again. I still share photos, but in real albums. I know who my true friends are because we keep in touch by meeting, emailing or phoning each other instead of contacting via silly comments or the Facebook inbox.

I have mixed feelings about Facebook. I don't like how cliquish the majority of the Facebook users are, say, they're only friendly to some of their friends yet they overlook the others. Facebook, to me, is a lot like high school. I also hate it when people post trivial things just to get attention.
However, it is undeniable that Facebook is a great way to see what old friends from the past are up to.

I never even tried using Facebook. I'd rather go out and enjoy the fresh air. But, I have a teenage grand-daughter, and what I've been seeing is that she spends any of her free time checking Facebook notifications either on her iPhone or her laptop. She doesn't even enjoy going outdoors anymore.
Get to life, please. Don't sit all day long in front of the computer.

As for me, Facebook is a good way to connect with people you haven't seen for years. Rather than having to wait until your high school reunion to find out what your old friends are up to, use Facebook to see where people are working, who they are married to and what their hobbies are.
I live far away from my family, so Facebook helps me stay in touch easily with my Mom and Dad. All in all, I find Facebook an excellent means of communication.
