2.4 PROCESS DEBTS CLASSIFICATION:
2.4.1 Classification according to international accounting standards
Based on the synthesis and development of criteria for classification of bank debt and the country, in the report of the international financial institutions International (IIF) in June 1999 gave the general criteria on debt classification. Accordingly, the amounts of credit granted classified into five groups: Group 1 (qualifying debt - standard), Group 2 (Debt Notes - watch), Group 3 (under standard debt-substandard), Group 4 (Debt suspect-doubful), Group 5 (debt loss-loss) and NPL (bad debt) is debt classified from group 3 onwards, as follows:
Group 3 (under standard debt - substandard) : repayment in full and on time suspected the lack of guaranteed conditions (eg equity capital value of the borrowers or mortgage); or debt principal or interest is overdue for over 90 days. These debts are the weaknesses are clearly identified, potentially leading to loss if not repaired.
Group 4 (Doubtful-doubful): has all the disadvantages of group debt 3, plus Another disadvantage to do more for the recovery or payment of all debts become very skeptical and uncertain; and / or debt interest or principal payment was delayed more than 180 days. In granting credit portfolio of the bank, the loan is considered impaired but not lost entirely.
