Tỷ lệ người trên 16 tuổi sử dụng smartphone tại Việt Nam tăng hơn 70% với năm 2013 (theo khảo sát của TNS/Google 2014), cụ thể, tăng từ 20% trong năm ngoái lên 36%, tương đương từ 14 lên 24 triệu người dùng smartphone (chiếu theo cơ cấu dân số Việt Nam 2011). Nhóm tuổi từ 16-24 có tỷ lệ sử dụng smartphone cao nhất (58%). Xét về tốc độ thâm nhập (tỷ lệ dùng mới), nhóm tuối 16-24, từ 45- 54 và 55-65 có tốc độ tăng tỷ lệ dùng smartphone hơn 200%/năm. Tỷ lệ người sử dụng smartphone giảm dần khi độ tuổi tăng lên.
