Khanom nằm thuộc phía bờ Tây của vịnh Thái Lan, phía Nam của Nakhon Si Thammarat. Vốn là một làng đánh cá nhỏ của Thái có khu du lịch sinh thái vô cùng phong phú với những khu rừng ngập mặn, đồi đá vôi nổi tiếng và bãi biển dài với những rặng dừa chạy ngút ngàn tầm mắt.
