Đông đảo các nhà khoa học, quản lý, doanh nghiệp trong nước và quốc tế tham dự Hội nghị.
Tại Hội nghị các nhà khoa học đã thông báo những kết quả nghiên cứu mới trong các lĩnh khoa học kỹ thuật - công nghệ, khoa học kinh tế. Theo đó Hội nghị đã chia thành 4 tiểu ban tập trung thảo luận 4 nhóm vấn đề, với các lĩnh vực: Công nghệ xanh (gồm các lĩnh vực môi trường, sinh học, thực phẩm và hóa học); Công nghệ chế tạo tiên tiến và năng lượng ứng dụng (gồm các lĩnh vực công nghệ chế tạo, tự động hóa, cơ khí động lực, khoa học và năng lượng tái tạo); Hệ thống thông minh và ứng dụng (gồm các lĩnh vực khoa học máy tính, công nghệ thông tin, cơ sở dữ liệu, bảo mật mạng Internet, mạng thông tin di động và các ứng dụng, kỹ thuật y học - sinh học); Phát triển kinh tế bền vững và Hội nhập TPP (gồm các lĩnh vực thuộc khoa học kinh tế: kế toán- kiểm toán, tài chính- ngân hàng, thương mại - du lịch).

Theo giáo sư tiến sĩ khoa học Bành Tiến Long, Chủ tịch Hội đồng Biên tập các công trình khoa học Châu Á và Chủ tịch Hội đồng Biên tập các công trình khoa học Việt Nam, ICATSD2016 là hội nghị quốc tế lớn, có ý nghĩa cao trong việc đào tạo nguồn nhân lực và phát triển KHCN. Ông đánh giá cao chất lượng các bài báo cáo khoa học tại Hội nghị lần này.
“Trong hoạt động KHCN, các đơn vị cần gắn các mục tiêu, nhiệm vụ KHCN với các mục tiêu, nhiệm vụ phát triển kinh tế xã hội của từng ngành, từng địa phương. Đồng thời mong muốn và đề nghị các giáo sư, các nhà khoa học quốc tế tiếp tục hỗ trợ Việt Nam đào tạo nhân lực khoa học, kết nối với cộng đồng khoa học trên thế giới" - Bà Nguyễn Thị Vân Nga, Phó vụ trưởng Vụ Phát triển nguồn nhân lực (Bộ Công Thương) nhấn mạnh tại Hội nghị.
