Festival Huế được tổ chức 2 năm một lần, là một sự kiện văn hóa lớn được tổ chức tại Huế vào các năm chẵn nhằm mục đích tôn vinh các di sản văn hóa Huế.
Festival Huế 2016 tiếp tục tái hiện nhiều sinh hoạt cung đình độc đáo trong không gian huyền ảo của Đêm Hoàng Cung, các chương trình giới thiệu tinh hoa nghệ thuật dân gian, nghệ thuật Cung đình xứ Huế, lễ nhạc và múa Phật giáo, lễ hội đường phố sôi động với sự tham gia của nghệ sĩ trong và ngoài nước, các hoạt động văn hóa cộng đồng phong phú, đa dạng diễn ra liên tục trong 6 ngày đêm, của đông đảo lực lượng nghệ sĩ, diễn viên và công chúng: bao gồm các cuộc triển lãm, trưng bày, nghệ thuật thả Diều Huế, thư pháp, các hoạt động nghệ thuật sắp đặt, nghệ thuật âm nhạc – mỹ thuật đường phố, hội thảo khoa học, hội chợ thương mại quốc tế, hoạt động thể dục thể thao, ẩm thực, tour, tuyến du lịch … sẽ thu hút đông đảo khách du lịch và công chúng.
