Ngày 13/6/2015, Hàn Quốc thông báo ghi nhận thêm 12 trường hợp mắc mới MERS-CoV và 3 trường hợp tử vong. Như vậy kể từ ngày trường hợp đầu tiên được ghi nhận tại nước này (20/5/2015) Hàn Quốc đã ghi nhận tổng số 138 trường hợp mắc/14 tử vong. Theo chuyên gia của Tổ chức Y tế thế giới có mặt tại Hàn Quốc (WHO), “đây làm một vụ dịch lớn và phức tạp”. Dịch bệnh tại nước này không chỉ khiến Hàn Quốc đang phải đối diện với “hai cuộc chiến dịch bệnh và vấn đề xã hội ” mà còn gây lo ngại cho nhiều quốc gia khác khiến Thổng thống Mỹ Barack Obama đã điện đàm với Tổng thống Hàn Quốc Park Geun-hye về việc Mỹ đã sẵn sàng giúp đỡ Hàn Quốc trong việc phòng chống dịch bệnh. Ả Rập Xê Út cũng đã cử một số chuyên gia đến tới Hàn Quốc để chia sẻ những kinh nghiệm và giúp nước này đưa ra những biện pháp ứng phó hiệu quả. Trong hai ngày qua 12-13/6/2015, Hàn Quốc tiếp tục thực hiện thêm nhiều biện pháp như tăng cường truyền thông khuyến cáo người dân đeo khẩu trang ở nơi công cộng, tránh đến những nơi đông người, khử khuẩn môi trường, phương tiện công cộng, các đồ dùng trong siêu thị (tay nắm, xe đẩy…), thực hiện chiến dịch “Bệnh viện an toàn”, tiếp tục đóng cửa các trường học…
