Trong triển lãm Los Angeles 2013, hãng Mercedes-Benz đã trình làng một mẫu xe crossover thể thao mới được trang bị động cơ 4 xi-lanh tăng áp, đó là GLA45 AMG. Cụ thể, mẫu xe concept mới của Mercedes-Benz sử dụng động cơ 4 xi-lanh, tăng áp, dung tích 2.0 lít, sản sinh công suất tối đa 360 mã lực.

Xe được trang bị hệ dẫn động 4 bánh và nhiều tính năng khác. Theo hãng Mercedes-Benz, GLA45 AMG Concept là nguyên mẫu cho xe crossover thể thao mới sắp được phát triển.

Được phát triển trên nền tảng của Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, GLA45 AMG Concept sở hữu phong cách thiết kế trẻ trung nhằm hướng tới những khách hàng ở độ tuổi thanh niên. Điểm nổi bật của Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG chính là thiết kế khí động với thân xe và nhiều phụ kiện hoàn toàn mới.

Dù có chiều cao và trọng lượng lớn hơn so với CLA45 AMG nhưng Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG vẫn có thể tăng tốc từ 0-96 km/h trong thời gian chưa tới 5 giây. Con số tương ứng của Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG là 4,5 giây. Thành tích đó một phần bắt nguồn từ hộp số tự động bảy cấp AMG Speedshift DCT.
