Thép nhập khẩu gây đe dọa cho thị trường nội địa Việt Nam (19/01/2016)
Các công nhân đã dỡ lô hàng nhập khẩu tại cảng Hải Phòng trong năm ngoái tầm 13.7 triệu tấn, tăng 23% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái.
Phó Chủ tịch Hiệp Hội thép Việt Nam (VSA)- Ông Nguyễn Văn Sưa cho biết ngành thép Việt Nam đang đối mặt với áp lực hàng nhập khẩu, chủ yếu là thép thanh và thép mạ.
VSA cho biết trong năm 2015, sản lượng thép nhập khẩu vào nước ta ở mức 13.7 triệu tấn, tăng 23% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái và hơn 1.8 triệu tấn phôi thanh, tăng 198% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái. Trong khi đó, hơn 1.6 triệu tấn thép cuộn và thép dây nhập khẩu trong năm trước trong khi nước ta chỉ sản xuất 1.1 triệu tấn thép cuộn.
Theo Ông Sưa, nhập khẩu từ Trung Quốc chiếm hơn 8.4 triệu tấn, trị giá hơn 3.7 tỷ dolla, chiếm 60% thép nhập khẩu vào Việt Nam, tăng 57% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái và tăng 13.6% về giá trị. Nhật Bản, Hàn Quốc và Đài Loan là 3 nhà xuất khẩu lớn vào Việt nam, chiếm 35% tổng sản lượng thép nhập khẩu.
Trong khi đó, Việt Nam xuất khẩu xấp xỉ 2.8 triệu tấn thép nhiều loại tới các thị trường chính ở ASEAN, tăng 3%. Tuy nhiên, ngành thép Việt Nam vẫn dự báo sản lượng thép nhập khẩu vào nước ta sẽ tăng 15% dựa vào các Hiệp định tự do thương mại giữa hai nước.
Ông Nguyễn Phương Nam, Phó giám đốc Ngành quản lý cạnh tranh của Bộ công thương Việt Nam cho biết nếu không có biện pháp bảo hộ hợp lý, nhiều thép nhập khẩu đặc biệt từ Trung Quốc sẽ gây khó khăn cho ngành thép nội địa.

VSA said that in 2015, the steel imports into the country at 13.7 million tonnes, up 23% over the same period last year and more than 1.8 million tonnes of billet, an increase of 198% over the same period last year. Meanwhile, more than 1.6 million tons of rolled steel and wire rod imports in the previous year while the country produced only 1.1 million tonnes of rolled steel.
According to Mr. Sua, imports from China accounted for more than 8.4 million tons, worth more than 3.7 dolla billion, accounting for 60% of steel imports into Vietnam, up 57% over the same period last year and up 13.6% in value. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are three major exporters in Vietnam, accounting for 35% of total steel imports.
Meanwhile, Vietnam exported 2.8 million tons of steel approximately variety to the main markets in ASEAN, an increase of 3%. However, Vietnam's steel industry has forecast steel output in its imports will increase by 15% based on the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.
Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, deputy director of Industry of the Ministry of competition management Industry and Trade of Vietnam said without reasonable safeguards, many special steel imports from China will make it difficult for the domestic steel industry.
