Cùng ngày, bên lê Hội nghị cấp cao APEC 2011, Chủ tịch nước Trương Tấn Sang đã có cuộc gặp với Tổng Bí thư, Chủ tịch nước Trung Quốc Hồ Cẩm Đào. Hai vị Lãnh đạo đã bày tỏ vui mừng trước những phát triển trong quan hệ hai nước gần đây. Chủ tịch nước Trương Tấn Sang nhấn mạnh, việc không ngừng củng cố và tăng cường quan hệ hữu nghị với Trung Quốc là chính sách nhát quán mang tầm chiến lược lâu dài của Đảng và Nhà nước Việt Nam.
