Bridget March sinh năm 1954, trước khi được biết đến là một họa sỹ bà đã từng là giảng viên cao cấp của trường cao đẳng nghệ thuật Leeds (Anh quốc).
Rời giảng đường để đến với Việt Nam vào tháng 9 năm 2012 theo lời mời của một người bạn và niềm đam mê hội họa; Nữ họa sỹ người Anh Bridget March đã vẽ được hơn 400 bức tranh về cảnh sắc và con người Việt Nam trong đó có nhiều bức vẽ về Hội An đã được in lại trong cuốn sách “Một tuần tại Hội An”.
Triển lãm “Một tuần ở Hội An” (A week in Hoi an) từ ngày 10.5 đến 24.5.2014 tại phòng triển lãm chuyên đề Ami Gallerie số 46 Nguyễn Thái Học (Hội An) đã để lại ấn tượng khó quên đối với du khách trong nước và quốc tế và khán giả đến xem tranh của bà trong thời gian diễn ra cuộc triển lãm.
Hơn 40 bức tranh vẽ trên giấy với chất liệu sơn màu nước, nữ họa sỹ Bridget March đã mang đến cho người xem những cảm nhận trong trẻo và sâu lắng trong nét vẽ tinh tế về thành phố nhỏ bé và xinh xắn nổi tiếng này.
Có thể cảm nhận được ngay sự đặc biệt trong tranh của bà với sắc màu tươi sáng có nội dung gần gũi về con người, phố cổ Hội An với những nét văn hóa đặc biệt với những ngôi chùa cổ kính thâm nghiêm, những ngôi nhà cổ độc đáo mang đậm nét kiến trúc phương Đông, chùa Cầu trầm mặc với tượng khỉ đá, dòng sông Hoài phố Hội liêu xiêu với những mạn thuyền…
Tất cả những nét độc đáo của Hội An đã được Bridget March phát hiện, chấm phá để hội tụ trong tranh của mình thành những nét văn hóa đặc sắc của một thành phố cổ, là di sản văn hóa của thế giới.
