Cũng giống Taylo, trường phái này nhấn mạnh đến tinh thần khoa học khi phân tích các vấn đề trong quản lý. Trường phái này được áp dụng mạnh từ thập niên 50 của thế kỷ 20 giúp giải quyết nhiều vấn đề trong tổ chức nhu: ngân sách tài chính; quản trị tiền mặt; phát triển chiến luợc sản xuất; hoạch định sử dụng các nguồn lực; quản trị tồn kho….
Hạn chế: Chưa quan tâm dến khía cạnh con nguời trong quản lý. Kỹ thuật thực hiện khá phức tạp.
