Day 2: ArlesThis UNESCO World Heritage site, is filled with Roman ruins; The most impressive is the beautiful preserved Les Arènes, c20, 000-seat amphitheater where Gladiators once fought to the death. Arles is also known for having welcomed Van Gogh in a period of turmoil especially in his life. Inspired by the distinctive landscape, strong sunlight and bright colors, he spent his final years here produced what many critics believe was his best works. We visited a number of locations the fact he painted, including Espace Van Gogh, hospital where Van Gogh was taken after he cut his ear in 1889, as well as the yellow Cafe in his "Cafe de Nuit" (night Cafe).
