Qúy vị và các bạn thân mến,

Nhu cầu cầu nguyện là nhu cầu thiết yếu của mỗi con người. Từ nơi sâu thẳm tâm hồn, con người hằng khao khát gặp gỡ Đấng tạo dựng nên họ. Tuy nhiên, không phải lúc nào khao khát ấy cũng mãnh liệt, không phải lúc nào họ cũng tìm thấy được an ủi trong đời sống kết thân với Đấng họ thương yêu.

Là phận người, các môn đệ của Chúa Giê-su cũng gặp những khó khăn trong cầu nguyện. Biết như thế, Chúa Giê-su nâng đỡ và khuyên bảo họ vững tâm kiên trì cầu nguyện cùng Cha trên trời. Ngài dùng dụ ngôn Quan Tòa Bất Chính để giúp các môn đệ xác tín rằng họ là những người được tuyển chọn và yêu thương và sẽ không bị bỏ rơi bao giờ. Ngài đưa ra hai cặp hình ảnh đối lập: một bên là quan tòa bất chính và bên kia là Thiên Chúa chí công, tràn đầy tình yêu; một bên là bà góa nghèo không có liên hệ gì đến vị quan tòa, và bên kia là những người Thiên Chúa thương yêu tuyển chọn. Nếu như vị quan tòa, bất chính và chẳng coi ai ra gì, đã phải bênh đỡ cho bà góa nghèo chẳng có liên hệ gì với ông ta, thì Cha trên trời, Ngài công chính và yêu thương vô cùng, sẽ mau chóng bênh đỡ cho những người mà Ngài đã tuyển chọn thương yêu

Chúa Giê-su dạy các môn đệ kiên trì cầu nguyện không chỉ bằng lời nói suông, nhưng còn bằng chính cuộc đời của Ngài. Ngài cầu nguyện để nhận định ý Cha và để tiếp lấy sức mạnh từ Cha thực thi công việc Cha muốn. Cuộc sống của ngài là một chuỗi dài hằng thi hành thánh ý Cha; ngang qua đó, các môn đệ nhận biết Ngài nên một cùng Cha. Nên một với Cha và cho ý Cha được thể hiện nơi mình không phải lúc nào cũng dễ dàng. Đã có lúc Ngài phải bước đi trong mịt mù, đã có lúc Ngài cảm thấy dường như bị Cha bỏ rơi, và đã có lúc Ngài phải thốt lên “Cha ơi, sao Cha lại bỏ con”. Tuy nhiên, điều quan trọng là mặc dù sầu khổ, mặc dù mờ mịt ý Cha, Ngài vẫn một lòng tín thác vào Cha. Ngài trở nên khuôn mẫu cho các môn đệ dấn bước theo sau.

Cầu nguyện có nghĩa là lớn lên trong tình thân mật ấy.” Trong tâm tình những người con thảo, cầu nguyện không phải là lải nhải với Thiên Chúa nhu cầu của chúng ta, và Thiên Chúa có trách nhiệm thực thi; nhưng đúng hơn, cầu nguyện là gắn kết với Thiên Chúa trong tình thân mật cha-con để từ đó Thiên Chúa khơi mở cho chúng ta biết Ngài muốn chúng ta làm gì, và chúng ta tiếp lấy sức mạnh, tiếp lấy Thánh Thần của Ngài, dấn thân cho thánh ý Ngài được thể hiện. Như vậy, kiên trì cầu nguyện trở nên kiên trì băng qua những trở ngại để kết thân với Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng ta, kiên trì để thánh ý của Cha được thể hiện nơi mỗi người chúng ta.

Trong đời sống, có những lúc chúng ta đau khổ, chạy đến với Chúa để xin được trợ giúp, nhưng chạy đến hoài mà không thấy Ngài trả lời. Có những lúc chúng ta chứng kiến cảnh người tốt bị hảm hại còn người gian ác lại vui cười, chúng ta hỏi “Thiên Chúa đâu rồi?” Những lúc đó, có thể chúng ta sẽ nản chí không muốn đến với Thiên Chúa là Cha của chúng ta nữa. Hơn ai hết, Thiên Chúa hiểu chúng ta, Ngài biết chúng ta cần gì và điều gì tốt cho chúng ta; Ngài ban cho chúng ta điều tốt nhất. Trong thực tế, có thể điều chúng ta xin không thật sự ích lợi cho sự sống đời đời của chúng ta; và vì yêu chúng ta, Ngài đã không ban cho chúng ta điều đó. Hoặc có thể Chúa đã ban cho chúng ta điều cao trọng hơn mà chúng chưa nhận biết. Hãy dành thời giờ để đọc lại lịch sử đời mình, chúng ta sẽ nghiệm thấy Thiên Chúa yêu thương chúng ta dường bao!

Lạy Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng con,

còn điều gì có thể quý giá hơn chính Con Một của Ngài,

còn điều gì cao trọng hơn Thánh Thần của Ngài

để Ngài ban cho chúng con!

Hạnh phúc của Ngài, tình yêu của Ngài,

Ngài mời gọi chúng con cùng chung hưởng.

Hỏi rằng có cái gì tốt đẹp mà chúng con đang có,

lại không đến từ Ngài.

Có những lúc chúng con tưởng rằng

chúng con lẽ loi trong cõi trần này,

Nhưng, chúng con nào biết,

trên từng bước đường chúng con đi, đều có dấu chân của Ngài.

Ngài cùng đi với chúng con, cùng san sẻ với chúng con niềm vui và nỗi buồn.

Xin Thiên Chúa là cha chúng con,

mở rộng trái tim của chúng con,

để chúng con đón nhận tình yêu của Ngài.
