Theo các doanh nghiệp kinh doanh gạo tại khu vực xã Tân Bình, huyện Cai Lậy và chợ đầu mối Bà Đắc, huyện Cái Bè, Tiền Giang, gạo nguyên liệu của giống lúa IR 50404 chỉ còn 7.700 - 7.800 đồng/kg và 7.800 - 7.950 đồng/kg đối với gạo nguyên liệu chế biến gạo 5% tấm, giảm 100 - 150 đồng/kg so với mức giá những ngày cuối năm 2011.
