Triệu chứng: Bệnh bò điên có thời gian ủ bệnh dài, thường là vài năm, hầu hết các ca
bệnh xảy ra ở bò trên 4 năm tuổi. Triệu chứng lâm sàng khác nhau nhưng tựu chung có
3 loại:
- Bò nhiễm bệnh trở nên sợ sệt và điên loạn khi dắt qua cửa hoặc cổng.
- Tư thế và dáng đi không bình thường, chúng thường lắc lư chân sau, chân nhấc cao,
run rẩy, rũ xuống và nằm liệt.
- Bò mắc bệnh rất nhạy cảm với tiếng động hoặc bị sờ mó.
