AEON chính thức bắt đầu hoạt động tại Việt Nam từ năm 2009 dưới hình thức Văn phòng Đại diện (01/12/2009 – 10/07/2012). Ngày 07/10/2011: Được sự chấp thuận từ UBND Tp.Hồ Chí Minh, Công ty TNHH AEON Việt Nam chính thức được thành lập, đầu tư cho các hoạt động về xây dựng, tổ chức, quản lý và kinh doanh các mô hình Trung tâm thương mại, Trung tâm bách hóa tổng hợp và Siêu thị hiện đại. Đây được xem là phương hướng kinh doanh chủ đạo. Ngoài ra AEON còn thực hiện các hoạt động kinh doanh khác liên quan đến xuất nhập khẩu, thương mại và nghiên cứu.
