Với chiều cao hơn 200m, chiều rộng 150m, chiều dài ít nhất là 5km và còn chưa được khám phá hết, hang Sơn Đoòng ở Việt Nam được coi là "Đệ nhất kỳ quan động", là hang động tự nhiên lớn nhất thế giới. Sơn Đoòng có sông ngầm ở bên trong, có khí hậu riêng, có cánh rừng đủ rộng để chứa cả một tòa nhà chọc trời ở New York.

Nhiếp ảnh gia người Úc John Spies đã dành ra một tuần để thực hiện bộ ảnh trong hang Sơn Đoòng.
