Giới hạn các thông số trong nước biển ven bờ đều vượt ngưỡng quy định cho phép. Tuy nhiên mức độ vượt không quá cao. Chất lượng nước ven biển của đảo Cát Hải chưa có dấu hiệu ô nhiễm nghiêm trọng, tuy nhiên cần phải có các biện pháp quy hoạch quản lý nhất là đối với các hộ nuôi trồng thủy sản ven biển nếu không theo thời gian nồng độ các chất ô nhiễm sẽ tăng cao gây khó khăn và tốn kém trong công tác xử lý sau này.
