4. Thuật toán EFIM sửa đổi (MEFIM)
Vận dụng công thức tính giá trị hữu ích ở định nghĩa 3 để chuyển đổi cấu trúc giao dịch sang dạng như bảng 3 để áp dụng vào các thuật toán khai thác tập hữu ích cao trước đó. Hiện nay, EFIM được xem là thuật toán khai thác tập hữu ích cao hiệu quả nhất nên chúng tôi chọn áp dụng công thức ở định nghĩa 3 và gọi thuật toán này là thuật toán MEFIM.
Khác với EFIM, MEFIM đã thay đổi dòng tại dòng thứ 2, chuyển đổi các giao dịch trong quá trình đọc dữ liệu và những nơi có liên quan đến sử dụng các công thức (1) tính giá trị hữu ích của item i trong giao dịch T (xem tại định nghĩa 3) trước khi tính giá trị hữu ích của giao dịch tu. Đối với công thức (1), EFIM và MEFIM chỉ thay đổi công thức tính giá trị hữu ích của các phần tử trong từng giao dịch nên xét về độ phức tạp, hiệu quả của 2 thuật toán không thay đổi.
4.1. Thuật toán MEFIM
Về cơ bản, thuật toán MEFIM chỉ khác với EFIM ở việc sử dụng tính toán các giá trị hữu ích của từng phần tử trong giao dịch nên những MEFIM vẫn giữ được những đặc điểm của EFIM khi áp dụng công thức chuyển đổi và trên loại dữ liệu có sự thay đổi giá trị hữu ích theo từng giao dịch.
