Nhằm hỗ trợ cho các doanh nghiệp kinh doanh trong các lĩnh vực ưu tiên như nông nghiệp, nông thôn hay xã hội hóa, UBND tỉnh đã ban hành các chính sách ưu đãi về đất đai, thuế, tín dụng, huy động vốn, hỗ trợ kinh phí đầu tư hạ tầng, hỗ trợ tiền bồi thường, giải phóng mặt bằng, hỗ trợ tuyển dụng và đào tạo lao động, hỗ trợ kinh phí xúc tiến đầu tư, thương mại - du lịch,... Mặc dù các chương trình đã một phần hỗ trợ các doanh nghiệp trong hoạt động sản xuất kinh doanh, nhưng các chính sách hỗ trợ ưu đãi đầu tư của Tỉnh gần như không có điểm khác biệt so với các tỉnh khác trong vùng ĐBSCL. Mặt khác, do là một tỉnh nghèo với nguồn thu ngân sách hạn hẹp, nguồn lực để hỗ trợ cho doanh nghiệp còn hạn chế, các chính sách ưu đãi còn có phần yếu hơn so với các tỉnh lân cận.
