Hòn Yến thuộc xã An Hoa, huyện Tuy An, cách trung tâm thành phố Tuy Hòa 20 km hướng Đông Bắc. Sở dĩ hòn đảo này được gọi là Hòn Yến vì trước đây có rất nhiều chim Yến chọn nơi này làm nơi lưu trú làm tổ.
