Việc tắt các hệ thống truyền tín hiệu khiến máy bay có thể tàng hình trước các radar thứ cấp và hệ thống radar dân sự. Radar thứ cấp chuyên thu thập các thông tin về danh tính, tốc độ và độ cao của máy bay. Tuy nhiên, cho dù tắt các hệ thống tín hiệu như vậy máy bay vẫn được hiển thị trên radar của quân đội.
