Tính từ năm 1990 đến nay, thế giới đã mất đi 3% diện tích rừng nghĩa là mỗi năm mất 13 triệu ha rừng do chặt phá tràn lan. Nhưng mỗi năm, có đến 6 triệu ha rừng có nguy co bị phá huỷ. Hiện tại, có 76 nước trên thế giới không còn rừng nguyên sinh. Các bạn của tôi ơi! Liệu những con số này có đáng làm các bạn ngạc nhiên?
Ai chả biết rừng là ngôi nhà tự nhiên của các loài chim muông. Thiếu đi rừng, muông thú sẽ lang thang để rồi rơi vào tay những người thợ săn. Nạn tàn phá rừng là nguyên chính gây nên sự hiếm hoi của loài chim này. Hay ngay như trong đất nước ta, bạn có thể dễ dàng nhìn thấy những chú voi trên tivi, sách báo hay trong các vườn thú, vườn quốc gia. Nhưng bạn có biết, Việt Nam hiện nay chỉ còn khoảng 100-110 con?... Tất nhiên, có những con số ở đây bạn thấy còn nó rất lớn. Nhưng hãy thử nghĩ lại một chút. Đó là con số của cả một quốc gia, thậm chí của cả một thế giới thì có còn lớn nữa không? Đây là những con số thật sự đáng tiếc!

Vậy thì tại sao không từ bỏ một chút lợi ích cá nhân mà cứu lấy môi trường này- ngôi nhà chung của tất cả chúng ta?
Rừng là lá phổi xanh của thế giới. Trong mỗi chúng ta, có ai có thể sống thiếu phổi? Cũng như vậy, chúng ta không thể sống thiếu rừng, thiếu cây xanh.
