Trước thực tế đó, nhiều phương pháp và cách tiếp cận quản lý mới tại VN và các quốc gia đã được nghiên cứu, ứng dụng và giới thiệu trong hội thảo như: phương pháp quản lý tổng hợp tài nguyên nước, quản lý nước theo lưu vực sông; các cách tiếp cận theo hệ thống: nước – năng lượng – lương thực, tiếp cận tăng trưởng xanh. Trong tương lai, Việt Nam cần tiếp tục phát huy các sáng kiến nhằm đảm bảo an ninh nguồn nước, thúc đẩy phát triển kinh tế, bảo vệ môi trường, góp phần đạt được mục tiêu nước toàn cầu là “đảm bảo an ninh nguồn nước cho phát triển bền vững”.
