Các phòng thuộc khoa Tâm bệnh:
Như ở trên đã trình bày, Khoa Tâm bệnh bao gồm hai khu vực chính là:
Khu vực khám bệnh: bao gồm một phòng khám (phòng số 38) và hai phòng làm test (phòng số 63 và 64).
Khu vực can thiệp: bao gồm một phòng vận động, ba phòng dạy cá nhân, một phòng tư vấn dành cho cha mẹ.
Sau đây xin được trình bày kĩ hơn về phòng số 64 và khu vực can thiệp của khoa.
Phòng số 64:
Đây là một trong hai phòng làm test của khoa. Trên thực tế, hầu như mọi công việc thực hiện test đều do phòng 63 thực hiện.
Phòng 64 do hai nhà tâm lý thay nhau trực. Căn phòng nhỏ, trên tường được trang trí nhiều tranh ảnh. Người đưa trẻ đi lấy số bằng cách ghi tên lên tờ giấy dán ở cửa và chờ đến lượt mình.
Phòng 64 sử dụng chủ yếu các test: Raven (màu và đen trắng), DBC – P (Bảng liệt kê hành vi phát triển ở trẻ em), CARS (phiếu đánh giá mức độ tự kỉ ở trẻ em), M – Chart, thang trầm cảm Back và thang lo âu Jung.
Cha mẹ hoặc người thân đưa trẻ đi sẽ phải làm test DBC – P ở ngoài trước khi cho trẻ vào đánh giá.
Khi vào phòng test, nhà tâm lý thường bắt đầu bằng việc kiểm tra ở trẻ một số điểm như: có nghe khi người khác gọi tên không, giao tiếp mắt thế nào, có nhìn theo tay chỉ được không, ... sau đó cho trẻ thử chơi một số trò như thổi bóng bay, xếp tháp, chỉ tranh (bộ phận con người). Sau đó hỏi người đưa trẻ đi (trong trường hợp ngôn ngữ của trẻ đủ để trả lời thì hỏi cả trẻ) một số câu hỏi thêm, điền vào bệnh án kết quả đánh giá rồi khi nào đánh giá kết quả xong cho các test đã làm thì đưa trả cho người nhà của trẻ để quay lại phòng 38 lấy thuốc và để bác sĩ tư vấn tiếp.
Thời gian cho mỗi trường hợp chỉ khoảng 15 phút. Hiếm khi nào có trẻ được đánh giá tâm lý lâu hơn.
