Ðề tài “Nghiên cứu, đánh giá thực trạng công tác quản lý đất đô thị Pleiku và đề xuất giải pháp phát triển bền vững” được tiến hành tại thành phố Pleiku, tỉnh Gia Lai”, thời gian từ tháng 07/2013 đến tháng 12/2014, với mục tiêu chung là đánh giá thực trạng công tác quản lý đất đô thị và đề xuất giải pháp nâng cao hiệu quản công tác quản lý đất đô thị Pleiku, định hướng để phát triển bền vững đất đô thị Pleiku.
Trong quá trình nghiên cứu, các phương pháp kế thừa số liệu và thu thập số liệu tài liệu; phương pháp so sánh; phương pháp sơ đồ hóa; phương pháp điều tra xã hội học; và phương pháp chuyên gia, đã được sử dụng nhằm thực hiện các nội dung: nghiên cứu, đánh giá hoạt động phát triển kinh tế - xã hội tác động đến đất đô thị; nghiên cứu, đánh giá thực trạng công tác quản lý đất đô thị; đánh giá tiềm năng đất đô thị của thành phố Pleiku và đề xuất một số giải pháp phát triển bền vững tài nguyên đất trên địa bàn nghiên cứu.
Kết quả thu được từ đề tài nghiên cứu về thực trạng công tác quản lý đất đô thị hiện nay của thành phố Pleiku cho thấy: quá trình đô thị hóa đã sử dụng, chuyển đổi diện tích đất nông nghiệp sang đất phi nông nghiệp; thực hiện các quy hoạch đô thị, các tác động của quy hoạch đô thị, quy hoạch sử dụng đất của các ngành đã tác động, ảnh hưởng đến đất đô thị thành phố Pleiku;
Mặc dù đề tài đã phác họa được ‘bức tranh’ khá chân thực về hiện trạng cũng như hiệu quả công tác quản lý đất đô thị trên địa bàn nghiên cứu và đề xuất được nhiều biện pháp nâng cao hiệu quả quản lý đất đô thị trên địa bàn thành phố Pleiku trong tương lai. Tuy vậy, do giới hạn về nguồn lực và thời gian nên có một số vấn đề liên quan đến công tác quản lý hiệu quả đất đô thị chưa được đề cập chi tiết trong luận văn này và cần phải có nghiên cứu chuyên sâu hơn nhằm đóng góp hiệu quả hơn trong quản lý đất đô thị trên địa bàn thành phố Pleiku phù hợp với yêu cầu phát triển bền vững của tỉnh và quốc gia.
