Mô hình Cánh đồng lớn đã được thí điểm, khẳng định và nhân rộng theo chủ trương của Bộ Nông nghiệp và PTNT. Đây là xu thế tất yếu của sự liên kết sản xuất và tiêu thụ sản phẩm, là giải pháp thiết thực nhất cho sản xuất nông nghiệp theo quy mô lớn. Với phương châm “Nông dân nhỏ nhưng cánh đồng lớn” sẽ hình thành những vùng nguyên liệu lúa chất lượng cao cho tiêu dùng nội địa và xuất khẩu. Huyện Triệu Sơn là một trong những huyện của Tỉnh Thanh Hoá đang triển khai thực hiện mô hình cánh đồng lớn, bước đầu đã đạt được những kết quả đáng ghi nhận. Bên cạnh đó, mô hình cánh đồng lớn còn bộc lộ nhiều rủi ro, bất cập và tồn tại một số hạn chế. Vì vậy, tôi đã chọn đề tài: “Giải pháp phát triển cánh đồng lớn trong sản xuất lúa tại huyện Triệu Sơn, tỉnh Thanh Hoá”.
