Theo những cam kết khi Vietnam gia nhập WTO, từ ngày 31/5/2007, Việt Nam phải dỡ bỏ quy định phân biệt đối xử với việc nhập khẩu, phân phối và sử dụng đối với xe máy có dung tích động cơ từ 175cm3 trở lên; thuế nhập khẩu xe máy sẽ phải được giảm từ 100% xuống còn 70% vào năm 2012, giảm thuế nhập khẩu phụ tùng từ mức 50% xuống còn 35-45% vào năm 2010.

According to the committed when Vietnam joins the WTO, from December 31, 2007, Vietnam had to unload discriminatory provisions with the import, distribution and use of motorcycles with engines from 175cm3; motorbike import tariffs will have to be reduced from 100% to 70% in 2012, rising import spare parts from 50% to 35-45% in 2010.

According to those commitments when Vietnam joined the WTO, the date 31/5/2007, Vietnam must remove discriminatory rules for the importation, distribution and use of motorcycles with engine capacities from 175cm3 above; Motorcycle import duty will be reduced from 100% to 70% in 2012, reduced import duties of spare parts from 50% to 35-45% by 2010.
