Hành vi xả thải không qua xử lý của Vedan làm thiệt hại tời nghề đánh bắt nuôi trông thuỷ sản của hàng ngàn nông dân và ngư dân của ba địa phương sống hai bên bờ sông Thị Vải, cụ thể như:
- Đồng Nai, số hộ bị thiệt hại khoảng 5600 hộ, tập trung ở hai huyện Long Thành và Nhơn Trạch.
- Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu khoãng 1255 hộ.
- Cần Giờ HCM khoãng 839 hộ.
