Đáp ứng phục vụ nhu cầu lượng khách tăng liên tục, hệ thống cơ sở vật chất kỹ thuật dịch vụ không ngừng được đầu tư, tăng cường về số lượng và nâng cao về chất lượng. Nhiều khu du lịch, khu vui chơi giải trí, khách sạn với quy mô, chất lượng mang tầm cỡ quốc tế (4-5 sao) được khởi công, hoàn thiện đưa vào phục vụ đã góp phần tăng cường năng lực, khả năng cạnh tranh của du lịch Việt Nam. Tổng số cơ sở lưu trú du lịch đang phục vụ khách trên 331.538 buồng (trong đó bao gồm 67 khách sạn 5 sao với 15.828 buồng, 177 khách sạn 4 sao với 21.532 buồng, 373 khách sạn 3 sao với 26.684 buồng). Cả nước hiện có 1.383 doanh nghiệp lữ hành quốc tế; 8.016 hướng dẫn viên du lịch quốc tế với nhiều thứ tiếng đảm bảo phục vụ khách từ nhiều thị trường khác nhau. Lực lượng lao động toàn ngành du lịch cũng không ngừng lớn mạnh, đảm bảo các dịch vụ hấp dẫn cho khách trong và ngoài nước, với trên 570.000 lao động trực tiếp trong tổng số 1,8 triệu lao động trong ngành du lịch.
