chỉ một lần tạm dời đến đường Hàm Nghi, năm nay đường hoa chính thức quay trời lại đại lộ Nguyễn Huệ( nay là phố đi bộ Nguyễn Huệ) với tên gọi Đường hoa tết Bính Thân 2016 TPHCM- Hoà bình, thịnh vượng và phát triển.
Đường hoa 2016 dài 720m, từ đường Lê Thánh Tôn tới Tôn Đức Thắng.
Trong đó, đoạn từ giao lộ Lê Lợi-Nguyễn Huệ được chia làm ba phân đoạn chính: đoàn kết- hoà bình, năng động- sáng tạo và hội nhập-thịnh vượng.
Trong suốt 12 năm ( 2004-2015), đại cảnh cổng Đường hoa với hình ảnh linh vật luôn nằm ở vị trí trung tâm thì gia đình khỉ của Đường hoa Nguyễn Huệ 2016 sẽ được bố trí ở hai bên, chính giữa là đại cảnh Hoa Kết Đoàn nhiều màu sắc.
