Nhằm phát triển giá trị bản địa của khu vực thông qua khảo sát đánh giá mối quan hệ kiến trúc xanh với kiến trúc dân gian bằng việc xác định, phân tích yếu tố xanh trong kiến trúc nhả ở dân gian Nam Bộ. Rút ra bài học về triết lý, tư tướng, phương thức kiến tạo không gian của kiến trúc dân gian. Nhằm tìm tiền đề cho lối tiếp cận, định hướng, phát triển bền vững cho kiến trúc nhà ở trong thiết kế mới. Từ đó phát triển cụ thể những nguyên tắc, giải pháp bền vững cho kiến trúc nhà ở Nam Bộ khai thác giá trị truyền thống của NODG phát triển trên cả hai phương diện: Đảm bảo yếu tố xanh trong nhà ở cân bẳng với môi trường sinh thái tự nhiên và môi trường sinh thái nhân văn phù hợp với văn hóa cư trú khu vực sông nước.
