SPC-1000, được giới thiệu năm 1982, là sản phẩm máy tính cá nhân đầu tiên của Samsung (Sản xuất bởi người Hàn Quốc), sử dụng băng cát-xét để load và lưu dữ liệu, có thể dùng được đĩa mềm.
Năm 1980, Samsung mua lại công ty Hanguk Jeonja Tongsin và tham gia vào lĩnh vực công nghiệp phần cứng viễn thông. Sản phẩm đầu tiên là bộ chuyển mạch. Đó là nền tảng cho hệ thống nhà máy điện thoại bàn và fax của Samsung, sau này là nhà máy điện thoại di động Samsung, nơi đã sản xuất 800 triệu sản phẩm điện thoại di động cho đến thời điểm hiện tại. Công ty sát nhập các công ty con về điện tử, trở thành Công ty Điện Tử Samsung (Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd) trong những năm 1980.
