Công ty Dung dịch khoan và Hoá phẩm Dầu khí (PVC) được thành lập theo quyết định số 182/ QĐ-TCDK ngày 8/3/1990 là thành viên của Tập đoàn dầu khí Việt Nam. Ngày 28/4/2005, Công ty Dung dịch khoan và Hoá Phẩm Dầu khí chuyển thành Công ty Cổ phần theo Quyết định số 1544/QĐ-TCCB của Bộ Công Nghiệp; Ngày 18/10/2005, Công ty Cổ phần Dung dịch khoan và Hoá Phẩm Dầu khí chính thức hoạt động theo Giấy chứng nhận ĐKKD số 0103009579 do Sở Kế hoạch và Đầu tư Thành phố Hà Nội cấp ngày 18/10/2005. Giấy chứng nhận ĐKKD này được Sở Kế hoạch Đầu tư Thành phố Hà Nội cấp thay đổi lần thứ 3 vào ngày 26/10/2007;
Công ty PVC là nhà cung cấp hàng đầu trong lĩnh vực dung dịch khoan và hoá phẩm dầu khí trong nước, có 100% thị phần trong nước thông qua công ty con DMC-WS (100%) và liên doanh Ml-Vie65tnam (51%, số liệu hợp nhất). Ngoài ra PVC còn sản xuất và phân phối các hóa phẩm và nguyên liệu sử dụng trong khai thác dầu khí, PVC được niêm yết trên sàn HNX vào năm 2007. Công ty PVC xác định mục tiêu từng bước tiến tới trở thành nhà cung cấp chính cho các nhà thầu trong khu vực và trên thế giới đồng thời tiến tới thực hiện cung cấp dịch vụ trọn gói về dung dịch khoan cho các giếng khoan, góp phần vào sự phát triển khối dịch vụ dầu khí của Tập đoàn Dầu khí Việt Nam. Để thực hiện mục tiêu này, Công ty đã không ngừng tìm kiếm các nguồn nguyên liệu, phát triển các sản phẩm mới, nâng cao chất lượng sản phẩm, đào tạo nhân lực làm nền tảng để thực hiện và mở rộng dịch vụ ra nước ngoài.
