Chương trình xây dựng cụm, tuyến dân cư và nhà ở vùng ngập lũ ĐBSCL theo Quyết định số 1151/QĐ-TTg ngày 26/8/2008 của Thủ tướng Chính phủ phê duyệt bổ sung các Dự án đầu tư (giai đoạn 2), được Thủ tướng Chính phủ đồng ý kéo dài thời gian thực hiện đến hết năm 2020: Thực hiện chỉ đạo của Thủ tướng Chính phủ về việc kéo dài thời gian thực hiện giai đoạn 2 của Chương trình đến hết năm 2020, Bộ Xây dựng đã dự thảo Tờ trình và Quyết định của Thủ tướng Chính phủ về cơ chế, chính sách đầu tư bổ sung các cụm tuyến dân cư giai đoạn 2016-2020. Dự kiến giai đoạn 2016 - 2020 sẽ tôn nền 80 cụm tuyến dân cư; xây dựng 43 bờ bao khu dân cư có sẵn để đảm bảo cho các hộ dân có chỗ ở an toàn, ổn định cho 43.405 hộ dân.
