Nguyên Tổng giám đốc Ngân hàng Đông Á Trần Phương Bình vừa có thư xin lỗi gửi đến khách hàng, các cổ đông và tập thể cán bộ nhân viên của Ngân hàng (NH) Đông Á.
Trong tâm thư gửi cổ đông, khách hàng và nhân viên hai ngày sau khi bị đình chỉ chức vụ, ông Bình tự nhận mình đã có những quyết sách dẫn đến kết quả xấu như hiện nay và bày tỏ khát khao phục hồi DongA Bank.
“Tôi thành thật xin lỗi hơn 7 triệu khách hàng đã tín nhiệm NH Đông Á trong hơn 23 năm qua về những phiền toái mà NH Đông Á đã gây ra, ảnh hưởng đến khách hàng trong những ngày đầu NH Đông Á bị kiểm soát đặc biệt. Tôi cũng thành thật xin lỗi toàn thể cổ đông của NH Đông Á đã cùng tôi gắn bó xây dựng thương hiệu DongA Bank về sự lo lắng, hoang mang về công việc, về sự tồn tại của DongA Bank chúng ta”, thư xin lỗi của ông Bình viết.
Nguyên Tổng giám đốc Ngân hàng Đông Á mong khách hàng thông cảm và tiếp tục giao dịch với DongA Bank, để NH có cơ sở phục hồi và được phục vụ tốt khách hàng trong tương lai. Ông cũng mong tập thể cán bộ nhân viên biến lo lắng thành hành động tiếp tục phát triển năng lực cá nhân của mình để góp phần xây dựng một DongA Bank tốt hơn trong tương lai.
“Một lần nữa, tôi cúi đầu nhận lỗi trước tất cả mọi người và thành thật xin lỗi gia đình tôi, những người thân và tất cả mọi người. Dù có thế nào đi chăng nữa, với cá nhân bản thân tôi, tôi sẽ làm việc hết sức mình trong điều kiện cho phép để góp phần củng cố, hồi phục NH Đông Á và tôi luôn tin tưởng thương hiệu DongA Bank của TP HCM sẽ được phục hồi và phát triển trên cả nước trong tương lai”, ông Bình viết.
Chiều 20/8, NHNN ra quyết định đình chỉ chức vụ Tổng giám đốc NH Đông Á với ông Trần Phương Bình. Bà Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Vân, nguyên Phó tổng giám đốc cũng bị đình chỉ khỏi chức vụ lãnh đạo NH Đông Á.
Trước đó, ngày 14/8 NHNN đã có thông tin chính thức về kết luận thanh tra toàn diện quyết định kiểm soát đặc biệt NH Đông Á. Ông Bình sinh năm 1959, là cử nhân kinh tế, nhiều năm kinh nghiệm giảng dạy kinh tế, trước khi chuyển sang gây dựng và dẫn dắt Ngân hàng Đông Á phát triển trong hơn 23 năm qua. Từ một ngân hàng không tên tuổi với số vốn điều lệ vỏn vẹn 20 tỷ đồng, ông Bình và các đồng sự đã định vị được thương hiệu DongA Bank với một mô hình ngân hàng bán lẻ, quy mô vốn năm 2014 là 5.000 tỷ đồng, dự kiến lên 10.000 tỷ trong vài năm tới.
