Ngày 4 tháng 10 năm 2011, Hội đồng quản trị (HĐQT) 2 doanh nghiệp là Công ty CP Vinpearl và Công ty CP Vincom đều đã họp và có nghị quyết thông qua chủ trương sáp nhập Công ty Cổ phần Vinpearl vào Công ty CP Vincom nhằm phát huy và tập trung nguồn lực của cả hai công ty, nâng cao năng lực tài chính, phát triển thương hiệu, mở rộng sản xuất kinh doanh và hoạt động đầu tư.
