Từ thị trấn Sa Pa, vượt qua nhiều dãy núi cao là đến thung lũng Mường Hoa. Tại thung lũng này, người ta đã phát hiện ra một bãi đá cổ trên đó có khắc nhiều hình khác nhau nằm xen giữa cây cỏ và những thửa ruộng bậc thang của đồng bào dân tộc.
