- Điều tra tai nạn thương tích (TNTT) Việt Nam năm 2010 cho thấy rằng: ngã là nguyên nhân thứ 2 gây tử vong trong tất cả các đối tượng. Trong 6 tháng đầu năm 2011, tại 53 tỉnh/thành phố có 551.380 trường hợp mắc TNTT đã có 4.665 trường hợp tử vong. Tỉ lệ mắc và chết ở lứa tuổi trẻ em (0 - 19) chiếm tỉ lệ cao nhất.
