Recycled PC was incorporated in PP to increase Pp's impact strength without reducing stiffness and tensile strength. Since PP and PC are immiscible, two compatibilizers were tested:-PPgMA and P (Lotader). Two blends containing 20wt% recycled PC and 10wt% of each compatibilizer were prepared. Results of the mechanical properties and SEM morphological analyses indicate the best compatibilizer was Lotader. Therefore, two blend preparation methods of PP/PC/Lotader 80/20/10 were tested, i.e., (i) pre-mixing of all components with subsequent extrusion and injection moulding and (ii) preparation in the co-rotating twin-screw extruder of a 2:1 PC: Lotader Master-Batch, pre-mixing of the master-batch and PP, and injection moulding. Morphological analyses indicated that best mixing was obtained by the first method. So, in the last stage, two blends were prepared in accordance with the best Compatibilizer and the best preparation method, i.e., 70/30/15 and 90/10/5 and compared with the 80/20/10 blend.
