2.Explanation ( Giải thích )
- Giáo viên sử dụng nhũng từ ngữ quen thuộc, dễ hiểu đối với học sinh để giãi thích nghĩa từ mới . Ví dụ sau khi đã đọc và viết từ mới: deaf, dumb (Unit 4 – Reading - SGK 10) lên bảng giáo viên giải thích:
T: Deaf people – people who cannot hear. Do you understand?
Sts: Yes .
T: Good. Say again.
Sts: deaf
3. Real objects ( Dùng vật thật ) .
Giáo viên dùng vật thật để giải thích sau khi đã đọc và viết các từ mới: diploma, degree, certificate …(Unit 3 -Reading- SGK 10)lên bảng. Giáo viên nói:
T: Look. This is a certificate.(chỉ vào tờ giấy khai sinh đã chuần bị)
Sts: A certificate
Giáo viên chỉ tờ giấy khai sinh và hỏi
T:What is it?
Sts: A certificate ( người dạy tiếp tục các từ còn lại)

4. Related Words (Nhóm từ theo chủ đề) :
Có những em học sinh biết rất nhiều từ, nhưng khi trình bày một vấn đề gì các em sẽ bị thiếu từ . Dó đó giáo viên phải cung cấp thêm từ mới có liên quan đến vấn đề đó .
* Ví dụ :
Unit 7 - The Mass Media (Reading- SGK10 ) giáo viên viết từ chủ điểm lên bảng, học sinh viết từ có liên quan đến chủ điểm đó và giáo viên cung cấp thêm .
