In 1938, Lee Byung-Chul (1910-1987), a people in the family of landowners in Uiryeong, moved to near the city of Daegu and founder of Samsung Sanghoe. Business company prospered, so Lee moved the corporate office to Seoul in 1947. When the Korean war broke out, Lee was forced to leave Seoul and then opened a factory for refining sugar Cheil Jedang's name in Busan. When the war ended in 1954, Lee founded Cheil Mojik and built the plant in Chimsan-dong, Daegu. It is the largest fiber wool factory and the company went a step further to become a large company.
