Cứ đến ngày 14 âm lịch, phố cổ Hội An lại lộng lẫy với lễ hội hoa đăng trên sông Hoài. Khi tất cả ánh đèn điện vụt tắt, cả khu phố trở nên huyền ảo khi được chiếu sáng bằng thứ ánh sáng lung linh của đèn lồng.

Kể từ những năm 1998, chính quyền Hội An bắt đầu tổ chức Lễ hội đêm rằm vào đêm 14 âm lịch hàng tháng.
