Phát động rửa tay - kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn
Sáng 5-5, Bệnh viện (BV) Nhi Đồng 1 (TP HCM) đã phát động chương trình “Bảo vệ sự sống: Hãy vệ sinh tay” trong toàn BV, bao gồm các mục tiêu: cải tiến hệ thống vệ sinh bàn tay cho nhân viên y tế, bệnh nhân và thân nhân người bệnh từ các khâu phẫu thuật, truyền máu, xử lý chất thải… cho đến những thao tác chăm sóc bệnh thông thường; tăng cường hoạt động kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn; tăng cường truyền thông đến người nhà bệnh nhi...
Theo TS-BS Nguyễn Thanh Hùng, Giám đốc BV, Nhi Đồng 1 là BV tuyến cuối, thường xuyên phải tiếp nhận những ca bệnh nặng, trong đó rất nhiều bệnh dễ xảy ra lây nhiễm chéo như tay chân miệng, cúm, thủy đậu…, đồng thời cung cấp rất nhiều dịch vụ chăm sóc sức khỏe. Tuy nhiên, chính những dịch vụ chăm sóc sức khỏe ấy có thể đe dọa người bệnh nếu không kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn tốt.

Các chuyên gia y tế cho biết thời điểm bắt đầu mùa hè - mùa mưa này cũng là giai đoạn nhiều bệnh nhiễm ở trẻ em có chiều hướng gia tăng như thủy đậu, quai bị, tay chân miệng… Việc rửa tay khi chăm sóc người bệnh và kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn không chỉ quan trọng đối với nhân viên y tế mà còn với thân nhân người bệnh. Hiện tại, mỗi khoa, phòng của BV Nhi Đồng 1 đều trang bị nơi rửa tay cho thân nhân người bệnh. Thân nhân của các bệnh nhi ngoại trú cũng được khuyến cáo thực hiện thao tác tương tự tại nhà.
