Tính đến thời điểm tháng 4 năm 2016 thống kê của phòng tổ chức cán bộ, Trường Đại học Đồng Tháp có 29 cán bộ giảng viên Ngoại ngữ trong đó 16% có trình độ Tiến sĩ, 60% có trình độ Thạc sĩ còn lại 24% đang học cao học. Hơn nữa, theo thống kê của phòng công tác sinh viên trường có 9847 sinh viên hệ chính quy. Như vậy số lượng cơ cấu đội ngũ giảng viên của nhà trường chưa đáp ứng với quy mô của nhà trường. Vì vậy, việc tham gia hỗ trợ hướng dãn, giảng dạy cho nhà nhà trường sẽ thíu hụt một số lượng lớn. vì thế, nhà trường phải mời nhiều giáo viên đến từ các đơn vị khác trên địa bàn tỉnh Đồng Tháp có đủ năng lực để tham gia giảng dạy.
