Đến cuối buổi sáng, lượng giao dịch tại các chi nhánh Đông Á tại TP HCM khá cao, trong khi tại Hà Nội, không khí giao dịch không có nhiều đột biến. Tuy nhiên, Phó thống đốc Nguyễn Kim Anh khẳng định Đông Á vẫn hoàn toàn đủ khả năng đảm bảo chi trả đầy đủ cho mọi khoản tiền gửi cũng như vàng giữ hộ của khách hàng gửi tại ngân hàng.
"Ngân hàng Nhà nước cũng cam kết hỗ trợ thanh khoản đầy đủ, kịp thời để đảm bảo nhu cầu chi trả tiền gửi của người dân và hoạt động bình thường của Ngân hàng Đông Á", ông Kim Anh trả lời báo chí chiều 15/8.
Trao đổi với VnExpress, đại diện Cục Thanh tra Giám sát Ngân hàng Nhà nước cho biết sáng nay cơ quan này họp với ban lãnh đạo Đông Á để đưa ra những giải pháp ứng phó kịp thời. Bà khẳng định Ngân hàng Nhà nước đang theo dõi sát diễn biến thị trường tiền tệ và DongA Bank. Ngân hàng Nhà nước khuyến cáo các tổ chức và cá nhân có tiền gửi tại Ngân hàng Đông Á nên thận trọng trước các tin đồn không có căn cứ để tránh những tổn thất không đáng có. Mọi diễn biến hiện nay đều trong tầm kiểm soát của Ngân hàng Nhà nước", bà nhấn mạnh.
Ban lãnh đạo Ngân hàng Nhà nước TP HCM cũng đang túc trực theo dõi thị trường và đưa phương án đảm bảo an toàn hệ thống, với mục tiêu cao nhất là đảm bảo thanh khoản và ngăn những hệ lụy không mong muốn tới thị trường vàng, ngoại tệ.
