Trong 6 tháng đầu năm, ước tính có 250.000 lượt khách thành phố và các tỉnh lân cận đi nước ngoài qua cửa khẩu sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất để du lịch, thương mại,thăm thân...tăng 5% so với cùng kỳ trong đó, khách đi du lịch thuần tuý ước đạt 140.000 lượt (chiếm 56% với các điểm đến được ưa thích (theo thứ tự): Singapore, Malaysia, Campuchia, Hồng công(TQ), Trung Quốc.
