Xuất phát từ nhu cầu trên, đề tài đã nghiên cứu các lý thuyết về hệ thống gợi ý đặc biệt nghiên cứu về các hệ thống gợi ý cho thư viện hiện có để xây dựng hệ thống gợi ý thư viện (LibRES) áp dụng cho trường trung cấp. Dữ liệu giao dịch của độc giả rút trích từ hệ thống quản lý thư viện hiện tại của Trường Trung cấp kinh tế kỹ thuật Cà Mau được sử dụng để xây dựng hệ thống gợi ý sách. Hệ thống LibRES được xây dựng dựa trên phương pháp lọc cộng tác dựa trên người dùng (dùng độ tương tự Pearson) và phương pháp gợi ý dựa trên nội dung (dùng chỉ số Hamming) nhằm hỗ trợ quá trình tìm kiếm sách, xem thông tin sách của độc giả khi tương tác với hệ thống.
