Nghiên cứu hiệu quả các hình thức tổ chức nuôi tôm thẻ chân trắng (TTCT) thâm canh (TC) ở Đồng Bằng sông Cửu Long (ĐBSCL) được thực hiện từ tháng 9/2014-2/2015, thông qua việc khảo sát 90 nông hộ nhỏ lẻ (NH), 12 tổ hợp tác (THT) 12 trang trại (TT) và 12 công ty (CT) bằng bảng câu hỏi được soạn sẵn. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy tổng diện tích (ha/hộ) và số ao nuôi (ao/hộ) của NH (4,6;4,9) thấp hơn THT (32,4; 30,3), TT (15,1; 13,1 ) và CT (92,9; 83,7). Mật độ nuôi, tỷ lệ sống, thời gian nuôi và kích cỡ tôm thu hoạch ở hình thức CT đạt cao nhất kế đến là TT, THT, NH, tương ứng năng suất tôm nuôi lần lượt là 13,9; 10,6; 10,9 và 8,37 tấn/ha/vụ. Giá thành sản xuất thấp nhất ở hình thức TT và cao nhất là CT, dao động 67,5-73,9 ngàn đồng/kg. Lợi nhuận (tr.đ/ha/vụ) của các hình thức nuôi là khá cao, lần lượt là NH (596), THT (692), TT (696) và CT (1.038), tương ứng với tỷ suất lợi nhuận lần lượt là 1,0; 0,85; 1,03 và 1,04 lần. Tỷ lệ sinh lời trong nghiên cứu này là rất cao, trừ hình thức NH có 6% hộ lỗ. Mức an toàn sinh học và hoạt động nâng cao năng lực người nuôi ở CT được quan tâm hơn so với các hình thức còn lại.
